Welcome and thanks for visiting my site to learn more about how I live to serve myself and others through various passion projects, volunteer opportunities, as well as just me being me.
When I was in school, all I ever dreamed possible for a future career, outside of my dream to be in the Olympics, was to be a teacher. I had several inspiring individuals along my educational journey and thought that was something I could tangibly pursue. After five years of post-secondary schooling and about the same number of years substitute teaching, I eventually landed a sweet gig teaching at my former high school - how cool of an experience that was!
After ten years of formally teaching in the classroom with a plethora of subjects being taught: social studies, career and life management, physical education, as well as planning, managing and teaching an entrepreneurial program, I came to the realization that I needed and had been craving more for my life. I wanted to be able to impact and uplift more than just the few students that were placed in my classes or that I coached in my basketball program, I needed to help others and that all had to happen by helping myself first...
Here I am, in my fourth decade of life, in this world, and am just now learning what it means to live a life of health and well-being coupled with one of purpose and passion. And I somehow found my own way to the Olympics, as I was brought on by the City of Medicine Hat to help with the logistics and community education for the Special Olympics Canada Summer Games 2026 - talk about full circle moments! I am thrilled to be involved in such an amazing community event - please check out their website to learn so much more.
